Association of Black Cardiologists SUPER WEEKEND

April 2007, Memphis

Cardiovascular disease (including hypertension, heart failure, coronary heart disease and stroke) is the #1 killer of African Americans.  More than 71 million people in the United States are affected. This Spring, the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) educate the community about Cardiovascular Disease and African Americans and  host their Super Weekend community awareness program, “Taking Steps Toward Better Health,” in Memphis on April 27-29, 2007.  Coordinated by Florence Howard, the three-day event includes a Leaders Forum on Friday at the Peabody, a Super Saturday Health Fair with free health screening from 10am to 6pm at Hickory Ridge Mall, and a Super Sunday Mini-Sermon Church Tour, involving 10 churches.
